Amelia Kay Machlitt

Amelia Kay Machlitt was born this morning weighing in at a surprising 5 lbs. 12 oz. She's 18 inches long and has dark hair. Mommy and Amelia are both doing great and Daddy is extremely proud! Amelia is breathing well and was sucking on a pacifier tonight with her eyes open while lying in Ben's arms! We'll know more tomorrow after they've tried to feed her, but so far this baby has surpassed all of our expectations! If you didn't know she was a preemie you wouldn't be able to tell by the pictures! She is really filled out... just in a compact little body! What a blessing!

We'll try to post an update tomorrow! Thank you to everybody for keeping Ben, Kori, and Amelia in your thoughts and prayers! God bless!

She was starting to whimper when I took this picture.

Delivery Day

I realize this isn't the delivery day we are all anticipating in this family right now! I know we all have Monday's delivery of Baby Girl Machlitt continuously taking over our thoughts but I thought I would share pictures of the delivery we got this morning.
It was very exciting to see Scott's "new" combine pull into the drive and to see the look on Scott's face as he watched. He's been talking about getting one and searching for one for about three years now and finally took the plunge this week. Jacob was quite enthused as well! He didn't hesitate to sit in it as often as anybody would offer - that probably had something to do with all of the buttons to push in the cab.

Thank you all for checking in! God bless! Scott, Kim, and Jacob

This and That

I've had several pictures that I've meant to post and just got around to downloading them today. These first two are of the little girls. They have asked me what it's like to wear the patch on my eye and I had told them that I had a box of children's patches that I had mistakenly bought, so they could try a patch on sometime and see what it was like. Well, they were spending a day with me and Emma remembered about the patches and brought them out to have me put one on each of them. Ella was a little reluctant at first but Emma and Anna were eager to see what it was like. How funny! They wore them home when their dad picked them so they could show their mom!!

Kendall had an appointment at the Mayo Clinic in June and I met her there. I thought this was interesting! I'm sure Rick will say it was named after him!

Stacy and Ben crossing the headwaters of the Mississippi at Lake Itasca (I believe) in northern Minnesota. After this, the three of us went canoeing on the lake, if you can imagine that!!! No pictures, thank goodness!

Thought you might like to see this, Kelly! (This is a planter of petunias that Kelly and Nick gave me. We have enjoyed it all spring and summer!)

I was hoping to post some pictures of the Jameses but that will have to be another day, hopefully not too far off!!! Mom
